• Solar System Graphics programming The aim of the assignment was to implement a 3D planetary system based on computer graphics principles. I had to write from scratch a complete OpenGL program that renders a Sun with orbiting planets and moons orbiting the planet simulating a planetary system.

  • iBall 3D block puzzle game Lately I had a great interest in game physics as I am passionate about it since studying it at school. Having Python as a main programming language at University in my first year, I searched methods to implement a game with physics therefore I choose Bullet Engine as a Physics Engine and Panda3D as a Game Engine. The outcome was a 3D game in which you control a ball and you have to use the environment to reach the teleportation tile.

  • Gold Collector My highschool programming final project This game was developed under BlueJ in Java. I wanted to use BlueJ because it is more easier to explain everything when you have some classes drawn and a documentation.

The actual idea of the game is that the financial crisis came and everybody "hunts" money. You control a little dwarf in the idea of finding as much money as you can to escape from bankrupcy.

  • Silversphere Think before you act The main idea of the game is to use the boxes to get past the water and to the teleportation stone having in mind the map, the time and the moving enemies.

Silversphere has 10 levels with different levels of difficulty. Some levels test thinking speed, others test the awarness and fast reaction. Having limited time for every level, makes the game more rewarding and harder to play.

  • Grand Piano Piano modeled and textured in Maya 2011 I started studying 3D theory at the University, where I quickly grasped the basics. Then watching tutorials, and trying to copy other works, I managed to develop some skills in modelling and texturing.

I modeled the piano according to blue prints found on Google as I wanted an identical replica of a true musical instrument.

  • Vote for me! Documentary frontcover design During one of my University modules, we were requested to develop a multimedia product with the theme "Three Blind Mice". Due to the political problems that occured in United Kingdom in 2010-2011 I decided to choose a "political" way of thinking the problem and create the frontcover for a new documentary called "Vote for me!". It is wanted to be a conspiracy type documentary about today's most powerful political leaders.

My name is Robert Eles and I am a programmer with great interest in 3D design. Please check out my portfolio and do not hesitate to contact me.

Multiple programming skills

Starting programming at an early age, and the neccessity to work in different domains gave me the ability to work in many different programming languages. Amongst I can enumerate Pascal, C, C++, C#, Java,PHP, Javascript, PL/SQL, and lately Python.

Eye for good design

Lately I discovered a hidden love for good design. I simply love using well thinked and visually appealing software. Design theory is not a hidden treasure for me anymore. I try to read the latest trends every day and do some 2D and 3D work on a weekly basis.

Good social skills

I am experienced working in groups with people from different backgrounds, involving the planning and implementing of ideas, role allocation and coordination. Optimistic, always open to new ideas, comfortable with new people. I also have a great sense of humor.

Let me introduce myself

My name is Robert Eles, currently a second year Games Technology student at Coventry University, and hopefully a future game programmer. Being inclined to the latest technology, I started bumbling with computers at an early age, and I didn't stopped since. If at first, it was all about 8-bit games, not long after I started to write simple programs in Pascal. Then the "magic" began.

Objective

Like in many other jobs, programming is about having the right skills, which are developed by hard work and sleepless nights. It is not easy to become a good programmer, but I think I have two skills that will help me for sure : dedication and the ability to see the fun part in coding.
